Martin began his computer-programming career working for a company called Hubco in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1983. He then became an independent contractor until 1987, when he and his family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to work for Saber Systems.

There he met Fred Keepers, and in approximately 1993, they formed FM Software, while continuing to prosper in this endeavor, growing the company to meet the individual needs of their growing client base. The time for change came and in 1997, he and Fred formed Pivotal Systems, while continuing to support their customer base, and sell the FACTS software package.

Martin has many accolades to his credit: He is the author of the following modules available for FACTS.

 Relationship Management
 Data Exchange
 Electronic Distribution

In 1976, Fred began his career as a computer specialist at Computer Methods in Milwaukee, later transferring to run their Madison, Wisconsin office. In 1983, he became the first employee of Saber Systems, helping to establish Saber as a premier software dealer and service organization. He worked at Aero Systems for a short time before teaming with Martin to form first FM Software and then Pivotal Systems.

Fred brings his vast experience and knowledge to offer a wide range of client solutions and business processes. He has built many long term relationships with clients, some going back as far as 25 years. This desire for sustained mutually beneficial relationships continues to be one of his major goals.
